Proxy.sh - uses Wireshark spyware Hide.me - logs all traffic data to charge you by how much data you used and only logs your internal 'non-public' IP address, yeah right. Perfect-Privacy - based in Switzerland, where data retention is required even for VPN providers Cryptostorm - Really? Lol who would trust those clowns to keep their data safe with all their false accusations in the past.
Nov 18, 2018 best free vpn for mac reddit If you’re looking for a fast and safe vpn service, check us out! VPN explained in this manner is a. NordVPN is the best all-around VPN service for most Mac users. While it isn’t the fastest VPN service that we’ve tested, it’s not particularly slow, either.
AirVPN - based in Italy, where internet regulations are fairly strict along with censorship issues. They also log your IP address,.
Whoever created this list should be shot. Wait a second.
You call cryptostorm clowns, but then link to them for a thread on logging? Anyway, you should read around their forums for yourself. It's all kept in RAM, same as any VPN. When you disconnect, it's gone. Remember, this question came up regarding PIA and how they keep track of 5 connections for your account. How do they do that without 'logging'? Hopefully, they don't log, but it's all still kept in RAM for real-time monitoring.
That's just an example. PIA has indicated in their interviews they do something similar. IP addresses aren't even in RAM, unlike Air. Do you keep ANY logs which would allow you to match an IP-address and a time stamp to a user of your service?
If so, exactly what information do you hold and for how long? We absolutely do not log any traffic nor session data of any kind, period. We have worked hard to meticulously fork all daemons that we utilize in order to achieve this functionality. It is definitely not an easy task, and we are very proud of our development team for helping Private Internet Access to achieve this unique ability.
Can I laugh at this entire thread? Pretty please. I was doing research for a paper I am writing and came across this rather odd thread that seems to promote PrivateInternetAccess to these 'Godly' degrees, which is an absolutely hilarious shmuck of a thing to do. Let me break this down for you in kindergarten lingo because I am almost certain you don't take well to arguments from strangers. 1) Their homepage shows a family riding bicycles. Please tell me how this relates in any way shape or form to keeping one private, secure, and anonymous online. 2) The bottom of their homepage shows a landscape picture of a group of culturally diverse people.
Are you trying to impress the masses by being all inclusive and accepting? As a VPN provider? 3) The 'Contact Us' page displays a typical picture of a support agent wearing a headset but there is no option to 'Call' support.
So why the F.&% does she need a headset? This seems like the Nigerian Phone Scam all over again but in the form of a VPN company. 4) The 'How it Works' page displays a graphic that was changed (used to be a lot worse) but still gives users the message that without PIA, everything you do on the Internet isn't encrypted. It also gives off the message that with PIA, you will be anonymous no matter what. Even with JavaScript enabled, history being saved, and a RAT on your computer logging everything you do. Anonymity comes down to more than just a VPN. I am impressed.
So many details, so little insight. It takes real skill to choose to read everything on these forums from the prospective that PIA is the enemy.
And you choose a dead thread infested with trolls to do so. Here is a thought. Make your own thread. Call it your review and questions or whatever else you like.
Please understand. You brought up some good points. But you started by attacking them for the useless stock image used by their homepage? What did you expect? Should they have an image of a screenshot of their OpenSSL certificate authority? I fail to see what it matters. You could complain that it has nothing to do with their service in every example other than images of their certificates and such, and those are already plastered all over the place.
So lets simplify it. The homepage of the service has exactly nothing at all to do with the ownership or operation of the service. The homepage is not hosted on any of the VPN servers at all.
They are entirely separate. So is it really so hard to believe that the layout of the homepage may have been made by a PR person that has no idea how the service works?
(I honestly have no idea. It could have been made by the same people who wrote the PIA VPN client.) That little paragraph in my opinion negates 99% of the things you have said. And I do not generally care about the other things since you make it clear you already know not to use or trust PPTP and to use GPG/PGP when possible. I doubt we will ever hear from you again. I just wonder why you bothered to bitch and moan about meaningless stuff like this. And I am genuinely uncertain what images you would approve of on the homepage, not that it matters at all.
If you ever come by again, please enlighten us as to this.
